Most homes have a few things that have been broken for a while: the cupboard door that won't close, the handle that comes off in your hand, the hinge that's pulled out of the frame. None of them are big enough for a specialist, but they all make the house harder to live in.
I'll work out why something has failed rather than just patching it, so it stays fixed. If a part needs replacing, I'll match it to what you've already got where I can, and tell you before buying anything.

- Can you fix a door that sticks or won't close?
- Usually, yes. It's often loose or worn hinges, a door that has dropped, or a frame that has moved. I can adjust or replace hinges, plane the door down or move the catch so it closes properly again.
- Do you bring replacement parts?
- I carry common screws, fixings and hinges. For anything that needs to match your existing fittings, I'll agree it with you first and either pick it up or let you choose it.
- Is it worth calling you for just one small repair?
- Yes, though it's often worth adding anything else on your list so I can do it all in the same visit.
